Kate has been working with clients for the last two decades, delivering psychometric assessments for executive selection, executive onboarding, executive team coaching, and organizational structure strategy. Kate Lye’s professional focus spans leadership development, change management and internal communication.
With 20 years of international experience in Europe, Asia and the US, she has significant industry experience working for professional services, financial services, pharmaceuticals and technology businesses. Her background and training is in organisational psychology, coaching, change management and organisational behaviour.
In her organizational consulting assignments, Kate works with executives to plan, support and drive the cultural, communication and people aspects of complex business change. Kate has a track record for driving large-scale change, diversity and integration projects for companies such as Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Barclays Bank, RBS, Sapient, Microsoft, McKinsey & Co, Swiss Re, PWC, Deloitte, Mondi, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Roche, Merck and GE.
In the leadership development field, Kate has designed and delivered global programmes for Roche, Ericsson, General Electric, British Airways, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank and AstraZeneca. Kate also works on a one-to-one basis with senior leaders, coaching individuals through significant career transitions or addressing particular development challenges. She is often engaged to provide organisational support for incoming leaders and their teams.
Kate has taught as part of the global faculty for Duke Corporate Education and coached on executive programmes for Saïd and Columbia Business Schools. Her pro bono work involves being a member of the SupporTED team. This provides coaching for TED Fellows. TED is a nonprofit that brings together people and ideas from the worlds of Technology, Entertainment and Design. Kate is recognised as a Ted Hero for her coaching work over the past years.
Kate started her consulting career working for Andersen Consulting. The next ten years were spent with Smythe Dorward Lambert, the UK’s first change and internal communication consultancy (bought by Omnicom (NYSE)). Originally based in London, she moved to Boston in 1999 to help open their US office with a team of six colleagues. She was subsequently promoted to President of Smythe Dorward Lambert’s Boston office. Back in the UK, Kate joined Stanton Marris in 2004 to spearhead their private sector practice. She founded run her own international coaching and consulting business in 2007.
Kate is a Founding Fellow of the Harvard-affiliated Institute of Coaching. She has an MSc in Organisational Behaviour from the University of London and a BA in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University as well as numerous coaching and psychometrical qualifications. She is an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Change Management and the Journal of Employee Communication Management and a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. She regularly talks at conferences and corporate events about leadership challenges. Her published work includes articles on women’s leadership, executive development, coaching, M&A integration issues and organizational change.
